• Lesson 1: Taking Measurements and Drafting a Skirt Block
  In the first lesson, you will learn how to take your measurements and draft a basic skirt block. You will:
  • Accurately take your measurements and use them to create a skirt block.
  • Draft a skirt block, including adjustments to the hips, waist, and length.
  • Create a muslin (test garment) of the skirt to test the fit.
  • Adjust the pattern based on the fit, solving common issues like areas that are too tight or too loose.
• Lesson 2: Drafting a Dress Block and Sleeve Pattern
  In the second lesson, you will focus on drafting a basic dress block. You will:
  • Draft the basic dress block with special attention to the waist and hips.
  • Begin drafting the sleeve block, including taking measurements and designing sleeves that fit the basic dress block.
  • Create a muslin of the dress and sleeves to check the fit.
  • Adjust the pattern to fix any fit issues, such as sleeves that are too long or a waist that is too loose.
• Lesson 3: Drafting Sleeves (One-Piece and Two-Piece) and Cutting Fabric
  In this lesson, you will learn how to draft sleeves and prepare your pattern for cutting. You will:
  • Draft a one-piece sleeve and a two-piece sleeve.
  • Cut the patterns for the dress and sleeves from fabric in preparation for creating a muslin.
  • Modify the sleeve pattern to suit your preferences, such as adjusting the length or width.
• Lesson 4: Making a Muslin and Adjusting Fit Issues
  This lesson focuses on assembling the muslin for the dress and sleeves and refining the fit. You will:
  • Cut and assemble the muslin for the dress and sleeves.
  • Identify and address any fit issues in the muslin, such as areas that are too tight or too loose.
  • Adjust the pattern for the bodice and sleeves to improve the fit, resolving any remaining issues.
• Lesson 5: Drafting a Pants Block
  In this lesson, you will learn how to draft a basic pants block. You will:
  • Draft the basic pants block, including the waist, hips, and legs.
  • Adjust the pattern to enhance the fit of the pants, such as modifying the waistline or altering the length of the legs.
  • Prepare the pants pattern for the muslin phase in the next lesson.
• Lesson 6: Cutting Fabric, Making a Muslin, and Adjusting Fit Issues
  In the final lesson, you will cut the fabric and create a muslin for the pants, skirt, dress, and sleeves. You will:
  • Cut the patterns from fabric and assemble the muslin for each garment.
  • Identify and solve fit issues during the muslin fitting, such as areas that are too tight or too loose.
  • Adjust the patterns to refine the fit and create finalized patterns that can be used for future designs.

After signing up, cancellations are no longer possible.
If you can’t attend a session, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. We’ll do our best to offer a solution or an alternative date.

Sessions missed without 24-hour notice are considered lost and are non-refundable.

Sewing space credits (to work independently or with guidance) are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.

Credits are personal and cannot be transferred to others.

Classes are provided in English and Dutch.
