In this 3-hour workshop at Atelier Aida, guided by Lies van Putten from Melt Lab, you’ll explore the world of natural dyeing. In this workshop, you will explore natural fibers and learn how to unlock their hidden colors and patterns through sustainable, eco-friendly techniques. Lies has been working as a natural dye designer for 3 years, combining this with fashion design to inspire a more sustainable and responsible future.
What to Expect:
– Introduction to natural dyes, techniques, and fabric selection
– Learn how to prepare your fabric for dyeing
– Experience the eco-print technique: arranging your fabric with leaves, powders, and roots, then steaming it to transfer nature’s patterns
– Explore ways to make your creative process more sustainable
– Take home your own naturally dyed fabric, ready to transform into a fashion or interior piece
