Workshop Fashion Illustration
Are you curious about the world of fashion illustration? In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of fashion illustration in a playful and accessible way. We’ll start with a female base figure on which you’ll sketch different garments. You’ll learn to work with various clothing silhouettes and develop an eye for important details, such as buttons, seams, and pockets. To get inspired in advance, you can think about which outfit or piece of clothing you’d like to draw. During the workshop, plenty of materials will be available, and you can draw inspiration from fashion books and fashion templates.
After a break, you’ll work on refining your favorite sketch. You’ll practice with markers, colored pencils, and fineliners, and receive helpful tips for creating shadows, folds, and wrinkles. By the end of the day, you’ll go home with your own colorful fashion illustration and a first impression of what fashion drawing is all about.
This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to discover if fashion illustration is for them and offers an ideal introduction to delve further into the field.
The workshop will be led by Kookai Jaritrum in collaboration with Atelier Aida. Kookai studied fashion and design at the Willem de Kooning Academy, with a background in fashion technique and tailoring. She currently works as a freelance illustrator.
Classes are provided in English and Dutch.

Workshop Patroon Tekenen vaardigheden | Lijfje
In deze workshop begin je met het opmeten van je maten en noteer je ze in een maattabel die je in de workshop krijgt. Vervolgens ontvang je een commercieel basispatroon voor een lijfje (maat 34 tot maat 50), en trek je het patroon over dat het dichtst bij jouw maat komt. Daarna leer je hoe je dit patroon aanpast aan jouw eigen maten. Het commerciële patroon, geprint op A0-formaat, mag je mee naar huis nemen.
Vervolgens bouw je verder op je patroonvaardigheden en leer je gespecialiseerde manipulatietechnieken. Je krijgt 10 oefeningen voor patroonmanipulatie: 5 voor het verplaatsen van coupenaden, 3 voor het manipuleren van de halslijn, en 2 voor manipulaties van het armsgat en de schouder. Deze oefeningen worden op een schaal van 1/4 gemaakt. Je mag ook een foto meenemen van een ontwerp dat je graag wilt leren maken; dit ontwerp zal ook op 1/4 schaal worden gemaakt.
Na deze workshop zou je in staat moeten zijn om aanpassingen te maken op kant-en-klare patronen uit Burda of soortgelijke patroonbladen, en deze aan te passen naar je gewenste model of lichaamsvorm.
De lessen worden gegeven in zowel Engels als Nederlands.
INCLUSIEF:
Alle benodigdheden, zoals patroonpapier, A0 geprint commeciele basis patroon lifje (ten waarde van €32) worden verstrekt, en natuurlijk thee en koffie.
