MEMORY OF DINKY
EXHIBITION
Stedelijk Museum Schiedam (September 2025 – March 2026)
Kasaei is honored to have their work included in the exhibition Missen als een ronde vorm at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, inspired by the book by Hanne Hagenaars. The exhibition explores loss, grief, and the ways people can keep their loved ones and memories alive.
For this project, Kasaei created a deeply personal textile installation in memory of her dog, Dinky, who passed away tragically. A piece of Dinky’s fur is incorporated into the artwork, establishing a tangible and intimate connection to his presence. The installation reflects the ongoing ritual of remembrance and the search for solace within grief.
Kasaei’s work aligns with the exhibition’s themes of resilience and life after loss. By integrating textile and a fragment of Dinky, the piece offers a physical reminder of bonds that endure, even when loved ones are no longer present.
Other artists in the exhibition, including Odonchimeg Davaadorj, Ayşen Kaptanoğlu, and Keetje Mans, also explore life, death, and memory.
Kasaei’s installation invites viewers to reflect on loss, memory, and the ways in which loved ones can remain close, even in their physical absence.
