Do you always wanted to learn to draft patterns on you body measurement and wear made to measure? Atelier Aida is organising a series of patterns drafting Basic – Blocks course at Antwerpen in collaboration with Bakermat. During this course you will learn how to draft basic blocks pattern based on you own measrments.

This course Is for both men and women you cab choose which one you want nat to follow:

Female Pattern Drafting – Basic Blocks Course

Class 1:
Taking measurements for skirts | Drafting the basic skirt block | Creating a mock-up (toile) |Checking the fit and making necessary adjustments to the pattern

Classes 2 & 3:
Taking measurements for pants | Drafting the basic pants block based on your measurements | Creating a mock-up | Checking the fit and adjusting the block for a perfect fit

Classes 4, 5 & 6:
Taking measurements for dresses | Drafting the basic dress block and sleeves | Creating mock-ups | Checking the fit and making adjustments to achieve a perfect fit

Male Pattern Drafting – Basic Blocks Course

Classes 1 & 2:
Taking measurements for pants| Drafting the basic pants block based on your measurements | Creating a mock-up (toile) | Checking the fit and adjusting the block for a perfect fit

Classes 3 & 4:
Taking measurements for shirts | Drafting the basic shirt block based on your measurements | Creating a mock-up | Checking the fit and adjusting the block for a perfect fit

Class 5:
Drafting the basic block for a T-shirt | Creating a mock-up and checking the fit

Class 6:
Drafting two different shirt collar patterns | Drafting the buttonhole placket, sleeve placket, and cuff patterns

Thanks to this partnership, all students receive a starter package worth €75, carefully curated to help you begin with the right materials.

This package includes:

• • 5 meters of pattern drafting paper

  • 10 meters of calico for women and 7 meters for men

  • 2 meters of jersey

  • A set of pattern drafting rulers

  • Paper scissors

  • A pattern notcher

  • Kraft paper for the final patterns blocks

Classes are provided in English and Dutch.
