Celebrate Nowruz with Creativity and Culture!

Atelier Azade and Atelier Aida invite you to a special Nowruz workshop where art, tradition, and culture come together. Discover the rich symbolism of the Persian New Year by getting creative yourself!

Workshop 1: Design Your Own Totebag
Get inspired by Iranian and Nowruz symbols and create a unique totebag using textile paint. Under the guidance of Atelier Azade, you’ll learn step by step how to bring traditional motifs to life on your bag.

Workshop 2: Iranian Masks & Suzan Duzi Embroidery
Immerse yourself in the artisanal traditions of southern Iran by creating a mask in authentic Iranian style. Learn how to decorate these special masks with embroidery techniques, guided by Atelier Aida. These masks are traditionally used as protection from the sun in southern Iran. You will also be introduced to Suzan Duzi, a refined Iranian embroidery art.

Special Film Screening & Iranian Delicacies
At the end of the event, we will screen a short film exploring the position of women in Iran and the Netherlands. Part of the film was shot in southern Iran, where you will see the traditional masks we create during the workshop. While enjoying authentic Iranian delicacies, you’ll gain unique insight into the strength and resilience of women across different cultures.
