Workshop Details
In this 4-hour workshop at Atelier Aida, you will get acquainted with batik colet, a traditional resist-and-dye technique where patterns are drawn on fabric with hot wax and then hand-colored. Using a canting (wax pen), you apply liquid wax in lines, dots, and motifs. After that, you’ll hand-dye the fabric in a process called colet. This workshop is offered by The Batik Studio, led by Shannen.

Step by step, you will work on your own design and discover how calming and special it is to practice this centuries-old craft with your own hands.

What to Expect:
– Introduction to the Javanese batik technique and the use of the canting
